More digging and preparing for the next pour

Bill pulling nails from forms, so we can start all over again. 

We used two-headed nails on the outside of the form for this reason. 

On the inside we used large-headed galvanized roofing nails. 

Form on right end of house.I'm siting on the right end of house. 
This is the high corner. 

We determined the height of the foundation by finding the lowest height at which we thought we would want to crawl around under the house.  "A little higher in the back and we could have had a walk out basement."  A little higher, a little deeper, a little wider, a little more, and ....

We dug seven large round flat-bottomed pits for the footings of the back porch piers.  The reason for digging the the footing now, was so any overflow from the next form pour could be placed in a wheel barrow and carried to these footings.
